Masking tape, or painter's tape, is a pressure-sensitive, thin, and easily tearable paper tape designed for temporary, clean-release applications. Used primarily to mask off areas in painting, its low-to-medium tack adhesive prevents damage to surfaces upon removal. It is available in various widths, and often conforms to irregular surfaces.
